Cancel My Order

At Shayatee, we value flexibility and clear communication. This Cancellation Policy explains—simply—who can cancel, when you can cancel, how to cancel, and how refunds work for customers in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Spain, Canada, Italy, Belgium, and Portugal. Because our products include solid-wood furniture and freight/LTL shipments, timing matters.

1) Cancellation window

You may request to cancel within 24 hours of placing your order if production has not started and the order has not been handed to a carrier.

  • Made-to-order/customized pieces: production commonly begins shortly after we confirm your order (board selection, milling, finishing schedule). Once these steps begin, cancellation isn’t possible because materials and labor are already committed.

  • If the order has already entered production, been picked up by a parcel or freight/LTL carrier, or (for international shipments) cleared export customs, the order cannot be canceled.

  • Missed the 24-hour window? You may still use our Return & Refund Policy after delivery if your item is eligible.

  • Order changes (address, product, finish) count as modifications. We can usually process them only during the same 24-hour window and before production starts. After that, changes may be unavailable or may incur extra costs (e.g., re-boxing, freight re-route, re-finishing).

2) How to cancel an order

Email [email protected] within 24 hours of checkout. Include:

  • Order ID

  • The email or phone used at checkout

  • (Optional) a short note explaining the reason (helps us improve)

Use the subject line “Cancel Order #[your order number]” to speed review. We’ll confirm by email whether the order is still eligible. To protect your account, we may ask for a quick identity or address confirmation.

Prefer not to email? You can also submit a request via the contact form on our site, but email is fastest against the 24-hour window.

3) Refund process

If your cancellation is approved, we issue a full refund to your original payment method, in the same currency used at checkout. If your bank or PayPal converts currency or adds fees, those are outside our control.

  • We initiate refunds within 7 business days from the date we confirm your cancellation.

  • Your bank/payment provider may take an additional 3–7 business days to post funds (PayPal eCheck/bank transfer may take 5–10).

  • You’ll receive an email confirmation as soon as your refund is initiated.

  • If your payment shows a temporary authorization hold, your bank will remove it automatically or convert it into a refund once processed.

  • For orders paid with a coupon or store credit, the coupon portion is re-applied where possible; expired coupons aren’t reissued unless required by law.

4) After the 24-hour period

After 24 hours, or once production, carrier pickup, or export customs clearance has occurred, we cannot cancel the order. You may still use our Return & Refund Policy after delivery if the product is eligible. Note that made-to-order/customized items are generally non-returnable except for verified defects or shipping damage.

If an exceptional post-window cancellation is approved (for example, a stocked item that has not yet left the warehouse), we will only deduct documented, at-cost charges already incurred (e.g., pick/pack, palletizing, carrier label, re-route). We’ll show the breakdown and ask for your confirmation before proceeding.

If we must cancel on our side—for example, a product fails quality inspection, a part is unavailable, or our fraud-prevention system flags a risk we can’t clear—you will receive a full refund. We’ll explain what happened and offer options if a replacement or re-make is possible.

5) EEA/UK cooling-off (14 days)

If you’re in the EEA or the UK, you may cancel most online purchases within 14 calendar days of delivery without giving a reason. When you exercise this right:

  • We refund the product price + our standard delivery cost within 14 days of receiving the goods back or proof of return (whichever is earlier).

  • You cover return shipping unless we’ve said otherwise.

  • Custom/personalised goods are exempt under local law.

  • This cancellation policy does not affect your statutory rights.

6) Questions or support

If you’re unsure whether you’re still within the window, contact us right away—the sooner you reach us, the more we can do. Tell us if your order involves freight/LTL or white-glove delivery, as those add carrier scheduling steps. We typically reply within 24 business hours and support customers in all listed countries.
