Terms of Service

Last updated: September 09, 2025

1) Overview

Welcome to Shayatee. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain—simply and clearly—how you may use https://shayatee.com (the “Website”), what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. The Website is operated by Shayatee (“we,” “us,” “our”).

By using the Website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Return & Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or buy our products. We currently serve customers in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Spain, Canada, Italy, Belgium, and Portugal.

Consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights. Links to all policies appear in our footer and during checkout.

2) Use of the Website

Use the Website lawfully and respectfully. Do not disrupt service, copy code or content without permission, upload malicious files, or attempt to access accounts/systems without authorization. You must be 18+ (or the age of majority in your country) to place an order.

If you create an account, keep your password safe and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You’re responsible for activity on your account until you notify us.

We may link to third-party websites; we aren’t responsible for their content or policies. If you need accessibility assistance, please contact us—we’re happy to help.

3) Products, Pricing, and Accuracy (Furniture-Specific)

We sell furniture and home goods. We work to show accurate photos, descriptions, dimensions, materials, finishes, and prices, but small differences can occur:

  • Natural variation. Solid wood and veneers vary in grain, color, texture, and small knots. Minor size tolerances may occur from handmade work or seasonal wood movement.

  • Screens differ. Colors on your device may differ slightly from real finishes.

  • What’s included. Styled photos may show room settings; your order includes only what the product page lists.

  • Care & use. Respect weight limits; assemble and anchor correctly. Avoid direct sun, humidity swings, standing water. Follow our care/assembly guides.

Currency & display. All prices/charges/refunds are shown and settled in U.S. Dollars (USD) at checkout. (Your bank may convert to your currency; any bank-imposed conversion fees are outside our control and are not required to receive your order.)

We may update prices, stock, and features at any time. If we discover an error (for example, a price/description mistake), we may correct it and cancel/refund affected orders; if we cancel, you’ll receive a full refund.

4) Ordering, Payment, Taxes & Duties, and Cancellations

When you place an order, you’re making an offer to buy. We accept your order when we send an order confirmation and begin preparing or shipping your items. We may decline/cancel any order (for example, if an item is unavailable, there’s a pricing/stock error, or we detect potential fraud/misuse). We may contact you for verification (address checks, bank authorization).

Payment. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. We do not store full card numbers.

All-in pricing—no extra fees for customers.

  • The amount you see at checkout is the final amount you pay to receive your order.

  • We do not add shipping, handling, packing, delivery-appointment, stair-carry, debris-removal, or “exact-time” surcharges after checkout.

  • For international orders to the UK, FR, DE, ES, IT, BE, PT, AU, CA, we ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). Import taxes, VAT/GST, brokerage, and customs processing are included in your checkout total. Carriers should not collect payment on delivery.

  • If anyone asks you to pay at the door, do not pay—contact us and we’ll resolve it.

  • If a re-route, re-delivery, appointment, or storage fee arises on the carrier side, we cover it.

Title & risk. Title passes to you after we receive full payment. Risk of loss passes when the carrier delivers to the address you provided (or upon pickup by you/your agent).

Cancellations. You can request to cancel before shipment (and, for custom/made-to-order items, before production starts). Once an order has shipped—or a made-to-order/custom piece has entered production—cancellation may not be possible. For international shipments, cancellation isn’t possible after customs clearance. See the Return & Refund Policy for details.

5) Shipping & Delivery (Freight/LTL for Furniture)

Please read the Shipping Policy for complete details.

Key points consistent with our all-in pricing:

  • Larger furniture often ships by Freight/LTL with curbside/threshold service by default; where available and upon request, room-of-choice, stair carries, debris removal, and exact-time appointments are provided at no extra charge to you (we cover any carrier fees).

  • Carriers may contact you to set an appointment; a signature may be required. Any signature or appointment fees are covered by us.

  • If you need to re-schedule or correct an address after dispatch, we will coordinate with the carrier and cover any re-route/re-delivery/storage fees (delivery timelines may change).

When your order arrives, please inspect packaging before signing. If you see damage, note it with the driver, take photos, and contact us within 72 hours so we can file a claim and send replacements/parts. Keep all packaging until we confirm next steps (carriers often require it). You will not pay any additional shipping/collection charges for an authorized fix, replacement, or return.

6) Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds

See the Return & Refund Policy for eligibility and steps. Highlights aligned with “no extra customer fees”:

  • Authorized returns/exchanges ship at our expense. We provide prepaid labels or arrange pickups.

  • No restocking fees.

  • Custom/made-to-order items are non-returnable unless defective or damaged in transit.

  • Items must be in like-new condition and, when possible, in original packaging.

  • We may request photos to speed up solutions (repair, parts, exchange, refund).

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method; your bank controls posting time.

  • For international orders shipped DDP, duties/taxes were included in your checkout total; when a refund is due under our policies, we also handle any carrier/customs paperwork required so you are not charged extra.

7) Intellectual Property & Your Content (Reviews & Photos)

All Website content—text, images, graphics, logos, videos, page layouts, and software—belongs to Shayatee or our partners and is protected by law. You may not copy or reuse it without written permission.

If you share reviews, photos, or other content with us or post them on our Website/social pages, you grant Shayatee a free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, display, edit for clarity, and share that content in store pages, emails, ads, and social media, with credit where practical. Don’t post content you don’t own or that is illegal/abusive or reveals others’ private information. We may remove content that breaks these rules. For copyright concerns (e.g., DMCA), email us and we’ll review promptly.

8) Warranties, Safety, and Product Care

Many items include a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for household use (details vary by product—see product pages or your paperwork). This doesn’t cover normal wear, wood movement, color changes from light/age, improper assembly, misuse, commercial use, or damage from moisture, heat, pets, or cleaners. Please follow our care instructions (e.g., lift—don’t drag; use coasters and pads; keep wood away from direct sun and humidity swings).

Safety. Secure anti-tip devices on dressers, bookcases, and tall cabinets; don’t allow children to climb/hang on drawers/doors. Use proper wall anchors and follow assembly guides. If unsure, hire a professional installer. We aren’t responsible for damage/injury caused by improper assembly, misuse, or ignoring safety instructions.

Except for express warranties we provide, and to the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties (merchantability/fitness for a particular purpose). Your statutory rights are not affected where they cannot be limited by law.

9) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Shayatee isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of use, lost profits, or property damage not caused by us). For any claim you bring, our total liability won’t exceed the amount you paid for the product involved. We’re not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we can’t control (extreme weather, carrier delays, strikes, shortages, government actions). Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10) Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws listed below, and you may bring a claim in the non-exclusive courts of your country of residence:

  • United States: laws of the State of New York (NY).

  • United Kingdom & European Union (FR, DE, ES, IT, BE, PT): your national laws and applicable EU/UK consumer protection rules.

  • Canada: federal and applicable provincial laws.

  • Australia: laws of the Commonwealth of Australia.

If a court finds any part of these Terms invalid, the rest still applies. These Terms, together with our Privacy, Shipping, and Return & Refund Policies, make up the entire agreement between you and us for Website use and purchases.

11) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our products, services, or the law. We’ll post the new version here and change the “Last updated” date above. Using the Website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
